D.E.A.R. Day
Join us April 16, 2014 for the 5th annual Drop Everything And Read, “DEAR Day” at the state capitol. Legislators and other leaders read an Oklahoma story by an Oklahoma author to at-risk Oklahoma City Public School 2nd Graders. Six public schools will enjoy learning about Oklahoma while visiting the capitol and the Oklahoma History Center. You can contribute to a valuable field trip for at-risk students with a donation designated specifically for this event. The busses alone cost about $900.00 for the day. We also provide snacks for the students and gifts for the teachers. School activity funds cannot provide those dollars. We also welcome volunteers for logistical help and reading. Please email us at info@okcliteracycoalition.org to donate or to rsvp to volunteer on April 16. Call 405-830-2790 for more information.

Our Mission

To lead a collaboration of literacy providers and supporters to strengthen services and present a united voice for literacy in Metropolitan Oklahoma City

“Without the ability to read, write and understand information, many of our citizens are unable to take advantage of the great resources in our city. And without the combined resources of all our citizens, we are unable to reach our full potential.” Mayor Mick Cornett

100% literacy through 100% community engagement!
