Literacy Live 2015

April 1, 2015

Literacy Live will celebrate and benefit adults in our community who have worked hard to overcome their struggles with reading. The event will be a celebration of more than 37,000 adult students who have joined our classes since 1987 in hopes of learning how to read or speak English.


Volunteer Tutor Training – Payne Education Center

April 11, 2015

Volunteer tutor training is a one-time, 4-hour requirement. Typically held on a Saturday each month, and taught by one of our Qualified Instructors, Tutor Training is a beneficial tool for community members who are interested in supplemental reading practice for a struggling reader.


D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read) Day 2015

April 14, 2015

Since 2010, OKCMLC has hosted more than 1,000 children for D.E.A.R. DAY. Students from Western Heights, Putnam City, Positive Tomorrows, Oklahoma City Public Schools, and Villa Teresa School have attended D.E.A.R. Day.

Network Meeting – Community Volunteerism

If you are a volunteer, a coordinator of volunteers, or pondering the possibility of volunteering, this is the network meeting for you. The topic of volunteerism includes how agencies recruit, retain and coordinate those passionate individuals giving time and energy to a community need.
