Metropolitan Library System offers books and programs at locations throughout the Metro.
Early Birds offers free quarterly classes for parents through Smart Start Central Oklahoma. Early Birds is a family-based, school readiness program that provides parents with information, activities, and materials for a young child.
Rainbow Fleet Resource Center offers a childcare referral service. They also offer books, games, and toys for checkout from their resource library for only $40/year.
Summer Reading Programs
Freedom School OKC in NE OKC offers a free summer enrichment program that will meet 5 days per week with 3 hours of reading instruction in the mornings and enrichment activities in the afternoons. Call to register.
The Oklahoma Youth Literacy Program in SE OKC offers a summer enrichment program for students at Plaza Mayor 8:30am to 3pm. $65 weekly for all day. To attend just the reading session is free. Call to register.
The Summer Skills Reading Program through the University of Oklahoma’s Outreach program offers five 1.5-hour weekly reading remediation courses for $368. Locations are throughout the metro and on weekends.
Project Transformation in NW OKC offers a free faith-based program for 8 weeks that includes literacy instruction and activities.
Jubilee Partners in central OKC offers a free faith-based summer reading camp June 19 to July 21, Monday to Thursday. Call to register.
Restore OKC in NE OKC offers a free faith-based summer reading camp Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for students at Parks Elementary and other nearby schools. Call to register.
