7th Annual Scrabble Showdown

The fundraiser, an entertaining amateur scrabble tournament, is designed to raise awareness of the coalition and the importance of literacy service in the community. This event celebrates the work done by literacy organizations around the metropolitan area.

NCFL Families Learning Together 2016 Summit

October 17, 2016 – October 19, 2016

The theme of this year’s Summit is “Together: Stronger Families, Stronger Communities” and NCFL’s annual gathering will have something for everyone: a world-class list of speakers, live learning experiments, national social media experts, networking, and high quality sessions featuring the latest in two-generation learning and literacy.


Payne Education Center Volunteer Tutor Training

October 29, 2016

Volunteer tutor training is a one-time, 4-hour requirement. Typically held on a Saturday each month, and taught by one of our Qualified Instructors, Tutor Training is a beneficial tool for community members who are interested in supplemental reading practice for a struggling reader.
