Scrabble Showdown, our annual fundraiser, will be Thursday, September 20, from 5pm to 9pm, at Castle Falls Event Center, 820 N. MacArthur Blvd., Oklahoma City.

Register your two-person team here. Advanced level players may register individually here.

Sponsors may find more information and sign up here.

The fundraiser, an entertaining Scrabble tournament, is designed to be a fun event that also raises awareness of the need for literacy services in our community.

Three levels of competition!

Novice – If you haven’t played Scrabble in years or you claim to be a horrible speller, this is the division for you. The Novice Division bends the rules, is more concerned about competition at the silent auction tables than across the board, and really knows how to put the “fun” in fundraiser! Grab a friend! The Novice Division plays in 2-person teams.

Intermediate – This isn’t your first rodeo. If you dominate family game night or you’ve been playing in the Scrabble Showdown for a few years and want a taste of competition (but you aren’t quite ready for the big leagues), register to play in the Intermediate Division. The Intermediate Division plays in 2-person teams.

Advanced/Club – If you take the game of Scrabble very seriously and want some tough competition, join the members of the OKC Scrabble Players Club. The Advanced/Club Division follows the North America Scrabble Players Association tournament rules and is a one-on-one competition. Can you spell “intense”?

Everyone can play and have a good time! Assists, “cheat sheets,” and additional letters are available for purchase at the event. All for a good cause, of course.

Entry fee is $30 per person for early bird registration and includes food and drinks. Prizes are awarded to the top teams. There is also a prize for best team name. After September 13, tickets are $35 per person.

Spectator tickets may be purchased at the door for $20 and also include food and drinks. A silent auction and drawings for prizes are held throughout the evening. Doors open at 5 p.m. Games begin promptly at 6 p.m.
